News: I’ve been Interviewed About Teaching English in Japan

Before I set out on my nomadic world travels way back in 1998, I living in Kyoto, Japan for six years. I moved there from the USA in 1991, specifically to save money to travel the world. As you can see from my ongoing travels, that worked out pretty darn well.

On top of that, I had a really wonderful & amazing life there, exploring Japan and immersing myself in traditional Japanese culture.

Just last week, Dr. Jessie Voigts at Wandering Educators interviewed me about my experiences teaching English. She put together a great set of questions covering everything from how I found a job, to what my day to day work experiences were like, to things I found challenging and advice I would give to anyone else thinking of teaching overseas. Well done, Jessie!

So if there’s anything you’d like to know about my teaching days or what it’s like living and working in Japan, hop over to read my interview. It’s all there!

Thanks very much to Jessie and Wandering Educators for featuring me in their Working Overseas series. I’m proud to help you promote the idea of living & working overseas, especially to young Americans. It’s such an eye-opening experience and so important for gaining a more objective perspective on oneself, the world and the good old USA.
