MY GUEST POST FEATURED ON C AND C FOOD TRAVEL BLOG

I’m thrilled and honored that Mei of C and C Food Travel Blog has invited me to guest post on her site! For one thing, I really like Mei and her fun, upbeat, enjoyable writing. I’m honored to have my writing featured alongside her own. Secondly, I’ve written on a topic close to my heart- wagashi, Japan’s gorgeous little ‘tea cakes’ that are eaten during the traditional Japaanese tea ceremonies.

While I was living in Kyoto, Japan for 6 years, I studied tea ceremony and kimono-wearing the whole time I was there. I came to absolutely love the rituals involved in the very meticulous tea ceremony as well as the delicious matcha green tea and beautiful wagashi. I put on one of my dozen kimonos and attended tea ceremonies as often as possible- at least once per month. I also practiced tea ceremony at home regularly with my best friend and room mate, Rick, or anyone who happened to be visiting. Many were the gorgeous, mouth-watering wagashi and bowls of tea we all happily devoured in our little house in Kyoto!

Check out my guest post, in which I explain all about wagashi: their many different types, shapes, colors, what they’re made of, and how to eat them properly at Japanese tea ceremony.

Many thanks to Mei for having me on C and C Food Travel!
