PHOTO ESSAY: WINTER IN NORTH AMERICA

WINTER IN NORTH AMERICA
ICICLES !

While I”m over here Stateside for Christmas, I may as well get some lovely winter scene shots- things that used to be quite familiar to me in my childhood but which I’ve literally forgotten about after living 20 years overseas, the past 12 years being in the tropics…

Cases in point:
Icicles!  Blue jays ! Cardinals ! Possums !
Christmas trees decorated with ornaments and presents… well, I hadn’t actually forgotten the Xmas trees.

To top it all off, we actually saw a BLACK BEAR wandering around in the fields outside my dad’s house! We found out that it had just been released by park rangers after being nursed back to health in our neighbor’s trailer.  Will wonders never cease?  Unfortunately, I could not get a photo of bear since it was a bit too far from the warm shelter of my dad’s house… but the bear may be holed up in my dad’s barn just down there.  Haven’t gone to check yet… too cold.
In any event, it’s been frigidly COLD here in N. America.   In fact, I’ve only gone outside for a walk ONCE in the 10 days I”ve been here.  WWWAAAAYYYY TOO COLDDDD for a gal living in me the tropics.  That’s ok, it’s nice and warm inside with lots to fill the days visiting with family and friends. All good.
Reporting from the road, Lash
