PHOTO GALLERY: Noosa – Australia
Noosa is the northernmost point of Australia’s magnificent Sunshine Coast. Noosa is blessed with stunning nature: long sweeping beaches, a dramatic forested headland, surfing breaks, rivers flowing into the sea, mangrove forests, a plethora of birds and, of course, the vast Pacific Ocean.
Noosa town consists of a single street of upscale boutiques, cafes and restaurants located just behind Main Beach as well as plush homes lining the languid Noosa River.
Then there’s Noosa National Park, Noosa Spit Park, Weyba Creek Reserve and famous Noosa Weekend Market, filled with locally-grown organic produce and homemade gourmet foods, baked goods, sauces and condiments.
All in all, Noosa is a luxurious spot immersed in nature, one of my favorite places in Australia.
I first discovered Noosa in 2003 when I cycled up the eastern coast. Pedaling along gorgeous Sunshine Coast for several days, I couldn’t help but remark on what a wonderful place it would be to live.
When I reached Noosa, I got ‘stuck’ for two weeks, enjoying the beautiful and diverse natural spots on offer and hanging out with new friends.
When I returned to Australia this year I was thrilled to find a House Sitting assignment in Noosa and Australian friends to visit at Coolum, just down the road. That has allowed me to stay in the area for two full months. Woohoo!
Result: I love Noosa even more than the first time around.
