Trains in Korea: one of the best ways to travel through this beautiful country

If you have been to Seoul or Busan, you’d realize that you can never have enough of Korea. This country has a lot to offer. And with the availability of Korea Train Express (KTX), traveling across the country is quite convenient.

If you are one of those people who like to plan everything precisely, then trains should be your only avenue for commute. Most of the train stations are centrally located, making it easier for traveling. People often choose trains over airplanes while traveling within Korea, since most of the airports are located outside the city. To top that off, traveling by train is a unique experience in itself.

In order to travel via train, you will need a KORAIL pass which will allow you to take unlimited rides for 7 consecutive days. This pass can be used to travel on any train running in South Korea, which makes it extremely convenient and flexible for travelers. This also eliminates the scenarios where you would have to rush to the counter to get yourself a ticket.

You can have access to the following train services with the pass.

  • KTX, KTX-Sancheon
  • ITX- (Cheongchun, Saemaeul, Mugunhwa, Nuriro)
  • (O, V, S, DMZ, A, Westgold) – Trains
