NEWS: I am Off-grid in October! I’m Exploring CUBA!
I will be offline October 2-31st, 2018
In case you haven’t heard – I’m going to Cuba! I’m going to Cuba! Yippie!
Yes, on October 2, 2018 I fly from Mexico City to Havana, Cuba. I will be exploring Cuba for the entire month of October, finally departing to Florida on October 30th.
I wrote more about my proposed Cuba travel itinerary and preparations here, in case you want to see what I’ll be up to.
While I’m there, I will be entirely off-grid. No internet. No phone. For one whole month. Here’s why…
Apparently there is internet access in Cuba now. But it is both expensive and very slow. For me, trying to do anything online with a very slow connection is just tortuous, especially trying to work online. So I’ve decided to just go off-grid entirely, except for the case of a dire emergency.
Besides, it will be an awesome experience to step away from the internet-way-of-life for an entire month. And to simply travel. Full-time, every day, all week long, without sitting at a computer. No answering gads of emails. No social media. No negotiating with advertisers or publishing articles.
I’ll be returning to what used to be a normal way of life – living in the real world 24/7 – before the WWW even existed. I’m actually really looking forward to it.
And…come to think of it, since I wont’ be working, I guess this will be my vacation, in fact!
However, I will be taking heaps of photos. And taking notes for a ga-zillion articles about Cuba.
