Liverpool culture

With the largest collection of museums and galleries anywhere outside of the Capital, Liverpool’s culture and heritage are at the very heart of the city. The Merseyside Maritime Museum is a wonderful place to go to find out so much about Liverpool’s maritime history. There is a lot to discover about the slave trade along with items imported into Liverpool over the years.

Alternatively if Art is your thing take a trip to the Walker Art Gallery, with paintings in chronologically order making it easier to follow. There is also a children’s tour which offers a different view on the exhibits.

The city of Music

Liverpool has a rich music history helped by the city’s famous sons the Beatles. There are many Beatles tours available throughout the city. Take a tour and visit the places best associated with the band as they grew up, met and formed the famous group that would go on to take the world by storm. Tours normally finish at the legendary Cavern Club, where you have the opportunity of an exclusive souvenir of your trip and enjoy live music most afternoons and evenings.

Sport

When visiting Liverpool it is impossible to ignore football because the city has two of the most famous and oldest teams in the world, Everton (the Blue half) and Liverpool (the Red half). Though like me if you’re not a fan you still might enjoy the match day hustle and bustle around the city.

Visit the Beach

You might not think it with Liverpool being a city but the surrounding area has some stunning beaches and they give the opportunity to escape the normally city life to the fresh sea air. Perfect for a quiet stroll or a romantic walk with your other half.

So there you have it. That is just a few of the things you can experience in Liverpool. Have you ever been? If you think I have left anything out let me know in the comments below.
