LashWorldTour NEWS: Announcing My Small Group Tours!

I’m thrilled to announce the start of my small group tours!

I’ve dubbed them, aptly enough, LashWorld Tours.

I’ll be leading small groups of 4-10 adventurous travelers around my favorite places on the planet, starting with Bali, Indonesia this June, 2014.

This is not a new concept for me, not by a long shot. I’ve been thinking about creating and leading small group tours for many years. Twenty years, in fact!

My idea sprouted while I was living in Kyoto, Japan for six years in the 1990s.

I was obsessed with learning traditional Japanese culture & arts and exploring every nook & cranny of Kyoto city. I spent all my spare moments studying various traditional arts, attending tea ceremonies, visiting temples and gardens, strolling through Kyoto’s old neighborhoods, investigating handicraft workshops and attending traditional performances.

After a few years I knew the city and traditional culture like the back of my hand. By then I also spoke conversational level Japanese.

I was so enamored of Kyoto that I was itching to share the amazing city with other visitors. It dawned on me that I could easily lead informative, intriguing tours of the city. However, I was so busy enjoying it all myself that I never got around to organizing tours, save for family and friends who came to visit. Boy, did they get intensive tours around Kyoto!

In more recent years I’ve been greatly tempted to start leading people around stunning Bali island, my favorite island on the planet. Since 2007 I’ve watched several diving friends successfully lead small groups of divers around Bali on their off-dive days.

Turned out that many visitors were eager to be shown around the island by someone familiar with local logistics and off-track destinations. I knew I could create amazing tours of Bali as well.

In the meantime, I’ve gained a lot of experience taking care of small groups while teaching scuba diving around SE Asia. I’ve made many local friends and contacts in various countries by returning to the same places year after year, speaking their languages, and delving into their communities & cultures.

So this year I’m finally putting my long-standing desires and well-honed skills into action.

In June, 2014 I officially kick-off LashWorld Tours with a Bali Nature and Cultural Tour, focused on the island’s intriguing culture & arts and its gorgeous natural environments. Find out more here.

Upcoming tours include Singapore, Malaysia, Southern Thailand and, my original dream tour location, Kyoto, Japan.

Cheers, Lash
