Stunning Mt Bromo Volcano – Java Indonesia
Volcanic Mt Bromo is one of Java, Indonesia’s primary tourist attractions. Both domestic and international travelers list Bromo at the top of their agendas.
One reason it’s so popular is its super easy access. Let’s face it, most volcanoes are not very easy to reach. But Mt Bromo is. A well-paved road switchbacks all the way up to the outer crater rim where a dozen or so guest houses and hotels await visitors.
The rim looks out over the vast crater, where Bromo’s inner cone and a few other volcanic peaks rise from the sandy crater floor. In the distance is Java’s highest peak, Mt Semeru volcano, which can be seen on clear days, often billowing out thick toxic fumes.
Sunrises and sunsets are magnificent, luring dozens of photographers there at the crack of dawn and evening. Midday many people trek, ride a horse or catch a jeep down into the crater itself, out across the hot dusty bottom and to the base of Mt Bromo. From there it’s a steep climb up to the inner cone rim where you can peer down into the often steaming volcanic heart.
This photo gallery presents 20 views of Bromo at various times of the day and different vantage points. Please enjoy the stunning panoramas.
