PHOTO GALLERY: Modern Singapore Architecture
One of major reasons I love Singapore so much is the amazing and varied architecture found throughout the city. Styles run from British colonial to Chinese and Indian shophouses to a variety of religious temples to tall, soaring skyscrapers.
Singapore’s modern architecture is especially impressive. In fact, many of the most amazing modern buildings in Asia are found in Singapore. What’s more, the city skyline is continually changing as new buildings are added to the already amazing architectural landscape.
A case in point is the entire Marina Bay area, including the sleek skyscrapers of the new financial district, the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel complex, ArtScience Museum, Helix Bridge and Gardens by the Bay Supertrees and Conservatories. They were all completed in 2011-2012, adding a huge new modern spin to Singapore’s harbor area.
Besides the stunning Marina Bay area, beautiful modern buildings are scattered all over the CBD. They include colleges & schools, public buildings like the national library, museums, shopping malls, government buildings, apartment & condo complexes and large corporate buildings.
If you’re a fan of architecture, you can literally explore Singapore for weeks just gazing at gorgeous buildings.
This photo gallery presents 34 images of modern buildings found around Singapore. No doubt by next year there will be more amazing structures to add to this collection. For now, I hope you enjoy Singapore’s current phenomenal modern architecture.
