Borneo is a large island in the South China Sea, surrounded by Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Borneo’s territory is divided between three countries. The northern section is occupied by the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak plus the tiny Islamic country of Brunei. Borneo’s southern regions are dubbed Kalimantan, an Indonesian territory.
